The Empress of Ice Cream - publication date approaches! The Empress of Ice Cream will hit the shops and online retailers here in the UK in late July. It's about the man who invented ice cream, in the 17th century, and the woman he loves. I've taken the known facts and woven a story around them involving Charles II and his mistress, a Frenchwoman called Louise de Keroualle.
I'm giving visitors to my website a chance to download a free sample in advance of publication date, and to explore some of the background to this fascinating true (ish) story. Check out the Empress of Ice Cream pages on this site - and, as ever, let me know what you think.

"This is one of those delicious, unashamedly feel-good stories that begs to be read in the sun – preferably an Italian sun, as the book makes you long to be there, sipping at a beaker full of the warm south” The Times
"It's a hymn to la dolce vita and the joy of food by someone who knows his stuff and his stuffing, a text that breathes authentic backstreet Rome from every page. I loved it" The Times
